"Know her place" nghĩa là gì?

Place có nghĩa là chỗ hay vị trí, hay địa vị. 'Know one’s place' có nghĩa là cư xử theo đúng vị trí của mình, nhất là khi ở một vị trí thấp hơn người khác.

Ví dụ
“Last summer, we hired a few interns (nhân viên thực tập) to help out in the office. At the end of their assignment they wrote a report to the department head about improvements they felt needed to be made! In my opinion, they should have known their place (đáng lí ra họ phải biết vị trí của họ); they were in no position (không có quyền) to be telling their boss how to run the office.”

“During her years in the White House, Rosalyn Carter was not a traditional (theo truyền thống) First Lady. She would often sit in on her husband’s senior staff meetings and sometimes represented President Carter in discussions with world leaders. As a result, some voters criticized her for not knowing her place (không biết địa vị của mình).”
