"Case in point" nghĩa là gì?

Case nghĩa là trường hợp, hoàn cảnh. Người Mỹ dùng 'case in point' (shared via VOA) để chỉ một thí dụ hay trường hợp rõ rệt để chứng minh một điều gì.
Ví dụ
“People assume that the super wealthy live extravagant (xa hoa phung phí) lifestyles (nếp sống). But you can find exceptions (ngoại lệ). My uncle is a case in point (một thí dụ cụ thể). He’s worth several million dollars. Still, he drives the same used car he’s had for years, rents a modest (giản dị) apartment, and donates most of his money to charity. He’s also an example (tiêu biểu) of someone who enjoys life.”
“It’s true. I’m no fan of technology. Not only do I avoid computers and personal communication devices (dụng cụ), but so do the characters (nhân vật) in the short stories I write. My latest best-seller (bán chạy nhất) represents a case in point. There are no references (không đề cập đến) to e-mails, the Internet or cellphones. How’s that for an example of what I believe?”
