"Run of the mill" nghĩa là gì?

'Run of the mill' (shared via VOA) có danh từ run nghĩa là số lượng hàng hóa được sản xuất trong một khoảng thời gian nào đó, và mill là một nhà máy sản xuất giấy hay hàng vải. Vào cuối thế kỷ 19, 'run of the mill' được dùng để chỉ số hàng vải sản xuất thẳng từ một nhà máy mà không được chọn lọc hay khảo sát phẩm chất. Vì thế ngày nay, 'run of the mill' có nghĩa là tầm thường, không có gì đặc biệt.
