A judo instructor in Japan violently punished two middle school students using martial arts techniques (võ thuật) after they ate popsicle sticks (que kem) without his permission (không xin phép) — leaving one of the students with a spinal (xương sống) fracture (gãy, rạn, nứt).

Takahiro Ueno, 50, who is the judo club advisor at Takarazuka Municipal Nagao Junior High School, was arrested Monday in connection to the alleged attack that left one of the students with a serious back injury (chấn thương lưng nghiêm trọng).

He subjected the boys, aged 12 and 13, to a 30-minute assault — hitting them, throwing them to the ground and pinning them to the floor.

One of the boys was allegedly placed in a chokehold (khóa cổ) that made him lose consciousness (bất tỉnh), prompting the instructor to slap him awake before pulling the same move again.
