The biggest concern is if the IoT devices become “killware”. As this piece explains, killware could be used by cybercriminals (tội phạm mạng) in the “hijacking, for instance, [of] a car and deliberately forcing a malfunction”.
As ransomware becomes a dangerous threat (mối nguy), US homeland security secretary Alejandro Mayorkas recently informed about a new threat called "killware" which aims to literally kill people.
Expand that threat to all the customers served by a particular power company. An entire electrical grid (lưới) could be shut down or overloaded by a killware attack. Maybe that family living off the grid is onto something. The more we are interconnected, the more vulnerable we become.
