"Go easy on" nghĩa là gì?

'Go easy on' có nghĩa là đối xử nhẹ nhàng, không chỉ trích quá độ; hay đôi khi 'go easy on sth' còn có nghĩa là dùng ít một cái gì...
Ví dụ
In this book, Al Capone is almost celebrated as a business man who makes generous (hào phóng) contributions to charities. The author goes easy on his subject (đối tượng). The truth is that Capone was a gangster who made money smuggling illegal alcohol. He also engaged in gambling and prostitution (mãi dâm). And let’s not forget he had several people murdered!
I grew up in Mexico, where the food can be really spicy (rất cay). When I cook for my friends, however, I have had to remember that some people prefer milder flavors (mùi vị). I’ve gone easy on the hot peppers (ớt) I knew from when I was a boy. I only put a lot of them in a dish when I know my guests appreciate the bolder taste.
