"The honeymoon is over" nghĩa là gì?

'The honeymoon is over' là thời kỳ trăng mật đã chấm dứt. Thành ngữ này dùng để chỉ một người hay một tổ chức lúc đầu được thành công và nhiều người ưa chuộng, nhưng bây giờ bắt đầu gặp khó khăn.
Ví dụ
When I arrived in the U.S. as an international student last spring, it was so exciting. I loved how friendly and informal (thân mật) Americans were and how everything was convenient (tiện lợi). Well, the honeymoon is over. Life is too hard for me here. I wonder why I ever left my country.
The union (công đoàn) had a lot of hope when the new boss took over. Members often complimented (khen ngợi) her for leadership abilities. It's a year later and the honeymoon is over. Everyone is complaining that she's making bad decisions. With the loss of so much support (ủng hộ), her job 's become much harder.
