"Bait and switch" nghĩa là gì?

'Bait and switch' có từ bait là mồi, bả và switch là sự thay đổi đột ngột (hành vi, thái độ, ý định...). Cụm từ này thường được dùng để chỉ một hình thức bán hàng lừa đảo bằng cách quảng cáo một sản phẩm ở mức giá rất thấp để thu hút khách hàng, sau đó thuyết phục họ mua một sản phẩm khác đắt tiền hơn. Vì vậy, 'bait and switch' còn có nghĩa sự lừa đảo dựa trên tuyên bố giả mạo hay sự dụ dỗ (enticement, lôi kéo, nhử vào bẫy) mà tỏ ra đáng thất vọng; 'nhử mồi và lật lọng'.

The issue is basically bait and switch. A drug user thinks they’re taking a hit of heroin, but what they’re taking in could be a lethal (chết người) combination of drugs that contains no heroin at all. So Narcan, used by police and paramedics (người phụ giúp về công việc y tế) to reverse the effects of an opioid (hợp chất như thuốc phiện) overdose, doesn’t work.

Mr. Squiller wrote Apple had turned GT into a “captive (bị giam cầm) supplier” by “constant interference” and changes in product specifications (thông số kỹ thuật), for which it didn’t compensate the New Hampshire-based company.
Speaking of scams (mưu đồ bất lương), none of this telemarketing vigilance (sự cảnh giác, thận trọng) will likely help me get back the money we invested in a greatly exaggerated Arizona-based “vacation club” sold via bait-and-switch tactics through a supposedly reputable hotel company headed up by a Mr. Chavez, who we were told was the “second-richest man in Mexico,” but that is a whole ’nother story.
