"Taishi kangyi" nghĩa là gì?

"Taishi kangyi" = "carrying the corpse to protest" (a practice with deep roots in Chinese history), nghĩa là "mang quan tài diễu phố" (để biểu tình).
-----
Since late imperial times, people have employed it when judicial systems failed to provide a reliable channel of redress.

It continues today, when corpses (tử thi) are dragged into all manner of disputes involving medical malpractice (bác sĩ vô trách nhiệm khiến bệnh nhân tử vong), forced housing demolitions (cưỡng chế nhà, "giải phóng" mặt bằng), vendor tussles (công an thuê côn đồ đuổi đánh bán hàng rong) with local law enforcement, and compensation for workplace accidents (tai nạn lao động tại công trường, sập giàn giáo v.v...).

When an accidental death occurs, citizens use the corpse to draw attention (thu hút sự chú ý) and invite sympathy (cảm thông, đồng tình) from the wider public (dân chúng), all in an effort to pressure authorities (gây sức ép với chính quyền) to render (đưa ra) a just outcome (phán quyết công bằng).
