'Nod is as good as a wink to a blind horse' = cái gật đầu cũng chắng khác gì cái nháy mắt đối với một con ngựa mù -> nghĩa là bạn không thể khiến ai hiểu được lời gợi ý, ý nói bóng gió của bạn nếu họ nhất quyết không chịu hiểu (you cannot get people to take a hint if they are determined not to).
