"Have a Soft Spot for Somebody" nghĩa là gì?

“Uncle Phil has a reputation as a tough guy who’s unfeeling (nhẫn tâm). But what most people don’t know is that he can be quite caring. He’s donated a lot of time and money to charities that help those less fortunate than him. Clearly, he has a soft spot (có lòng nhân ái) for the underprivileged (những người bị thiệt thòi).”

“Ted Kennedy served 46 years in the U.S. Senate. Despite his upbringing in a wealthy political family, he had a soft spot (dành lòng thương cảm) for people who didn’t grow up with the privileges he had. He spent his career fighting for civil rights, consumer protection and national health care.”

“Last year I received so many Christmas cards that I decided I needed to send some this year. While I’ve managed to put a lot in the mail already, I’ve still got a huge stack that I haven’t started. I’m just snowed under (bị ngập đầu trong vụ này). And I don’t know when or if I’ll get them all written.”

“Our friends in Colorado have invited us to join them for the holidays. What could be better than a ski vacation over Christmas? I know I can get a few days off, but my girlfriend is snowed under with work. Unless she can reschedule some of her appointments, I can’t see how we can leave town.”
