"Rough and Ready" nghĩa là gì?

Trong thành ngữ này, từ rough có nghĩa là thô sơ, không trau chuốt, còn ready có nghĩa là sẵn sàng. 'Rough and ready' có nghĩa là qua loa, đại khái nhưng được việc, tạm dùng được.
Ví dụ
“Good grades in school don’t completely show a student’s potential. They’re only a rough and ready (đại khái) guide. That’s why colleges look at a variety of data, including a list of extracurricular activities, a personal essay, and recommmendations from people who have assessed the candidate’s talents and personal characteristics.”
