"Close to home" nghĩa là gì?

Close nghĩa là gần hay thân thiết. Người Mỹ dùng 'close to home' để chỉ một điều gì ảnh hưởng sâu sắc đến cá nhân một người.
Ví dụ
“After the taping (thu hình), I could see that our sound engineer (chuyên viên âm thanh) was rather distraught (khá đau buồn). He, himself, had fought in that conflict and had lost some of his comrades (đồng đội). When the author began describing the atrocities (hành vi tàn bạo) on the battlefield (chiến trường), she unknowingly (vô tình) stirred up (gợi lên) painful memories for the engineer. For him, they were very close to home (ảnh hưởng sâu đậm đến tâm hồn anh).”
“M.A.D.D.* is an organization committed to stopping drunk driving and supporting victims of this terrible crime. It was started in 1980 by a mother who had strong feelings about such issues.
