"Diamond in the rough" nghĩa là gì?

'Diamond in the rough' có một từ mới là rough nghĩa là thô thiển, chưa gọt giũa. Diamond in the rough: kim cương chưa mài giũa, tức là một vật hay một người chưa phát triển đầy đủ khả năng nhưng có triển vọng thành công lớn.
Ví dụ
My friends don’t have a very high opinion (không đánh giá cao) of the house I bought. True, it’s small and outdated (lỗi thời). But the way I see it, it’s my diamond in the rough.
