"Trial and error" nghĩa là gì?

'Trial and error' có một từ mới là error nghĩa là lầm lỗi. Vì thế trial and error có nghĩa là hoàn thành một việc bằng cách thử dùng những biện pháp khác nhau cho đến khi tìm được biện pháp đúng.
Ví dụ
One of my uncle’s hobbies (sở thích) is beer making. He experiments (thử nghiệm) with different approaches (cách thức) in order to create a tasty beer. Because he makes mistakes (lầm lỗi) along the way, we can say this is a process that involves a lot of trial and error (học tập bằng cách mò mẫm).
Polio (bệnh bại liệt) is a terrible disease that used to cripple (làm què quặt) millions of children. Dr. Jonas Salk was determined to stop its spread (sự lan tràn). Through trial and error (mò mẫm nghiên cứu), he finally succeeded. In 1955, after years of testing, he produced a safe and dependable (đáng tin cậy) vaccine.
