'Faits accomplis' nghĩa là việc đã rồi (a thing that has already happened or been decided before those affected hear about it, leaving them with no option but to accept).

Ví dụ
He is apparently betting that the people will eventually forget and become used to the new security policy if faits accomplis are accumulated.

European history has shown that unification (thống nhất) has never been achieved by primarily administrative procedures. It has required a unifier — Prussia in Germany, Piedmont in Italy — without whose leadership (and willingness to create faits accomplis) unification would have remained stillborn (đẻ non, chết yểu).

Obama, faced with Russia’s assertive faits accomplis, remains lost in a post-Vienna ideological (ý thức hệ) rapture (sung sướng vô ngần, mê ly, say men chiến thắng), unable or unwilling to see the consequences of his passivity and disinterest. Expressing “concern” over Russia’s new Latakia base joins a lengthening list of Obama “concerns” that elicit (khêu ra, moi ra) only his rhetoric, nothing more.
