"Jam tomorrow" nghĩa là gì?

'Jam tomorrow' nghĩa là điều gì bạn được hứa hẹn nhưng điều đó không bao giờ đến (something that you want which you are told you will get soon but which never appears; some pleasant event in the future, which is never likely to materialize); giống giấc mơ hão huyền.

Ví dụ
Islands Minister Derek Mackay welcomed the feedback as “very positive”, but the Scottish Liberal Democrats said that after nine years in government, “islanders would like rather more than a promise of some jam tomorrow”.

That has been the cycle for the past few years now. Wenger is only ever one defeat away from snarling (càu nhàu, cằn nhằn), jeering (nhạo báng, giễu cợt) vilification (sự lăng mạ, vu khống) by his own supporters. They have had enough of promises of jam tomorrow. In Wenger, they no longer see a pioneer. They see the opposite. They see a man who they think is holding them back.

Lord Adonis, the former Labour minister who is chairman of Mr Osborne's National Infrastructure Commission, today said new infrastructure spending was not just 'jam tomorrow'. He told the BBC: 'The big improvements that are taking place at the moment should be seen as the first stage on the road to HS3, so the electrification of the Manchester to Leeds line will bring the journey time down to 40 minutes.
