Henpeck nghĩa là gì?

Henpeck có từ hen là gà mái, peck là cú mổ -> từ này (nói về một phụ nữ) nghĩa là thường xuyên bắt nạt, hăm dọa chồng/người yêu (of a woman, to thoroughly and continually dominate, intimidate, bully, or browbeat (a man), especially her boyfriend); bắt nạt, xỏ mũi (chồng).

“Ridley, it is really one of the great privileges of my life to be able to work with you and to sit next to you and henpeck you with questions and have you be so patient in answering them.”
The only creatures missing from my youth are other children. I wonder if this is for the best, as my experiences at secondary school have led me to believe I must be a species apart from the gaggles of other girls, some of whom can henpeck just as sharply as our chickens. I’m not without friends entirely, but am confined to the outskirts. It is easier to vanish into books and the countryside.

But could Trump do the Democrats’ most consequential chief executive one better and enlist McConnell’s own wife to henpeck the GOP Senate chief into acquiescing as he spreads a massive fortune in taxpayer chicken feed from sea to shining sea?
