'He who sups with the Devil should have a long spoon' là một câu ngạn ngữ Anh vào thế kỉ 14, 'Ai ăn tối với Quỷ thì nên có một cái thìa dài', ý nói là nếu bạn giao thiệp với người xấu thì nên cẩn thận không để bị họ hãm hại, hay bị ảnh hưởng xấu từ họ (If you have dealings with dangerous people, you must be careful that they do not harm you), từ cái thìa dài ở đây có thể nghĩa là giữ khoảng cách.
