Hoa anh đào nở chỉ một tháng ngay sau thảm họa sóng thần. Người Nhật Bản thường ngắm hoa anh đào vào tháng 4, khi hoa nở. Cảnh rất đẹp vì từ lúc hoa nở đến khi hoa tàn thật ngắn ngủi.
