Đừng bao giờ tiết kiệm nụ cười

Never frown, even when you are sad, because you never know who is falling in love with your smile.

Đừng bao giờ tiết kiệm nụ cười ngay cả khi bạn buồn, vì không bao giờ bạn biết được có thể có ai đó sẽ yêu bạn vì nụ cười đó.

"Rattle off" nghĩa là gì?

Alan Greenspan đọc dữ liệu kinh tế rất nhanh. Photo courtesy Financial Times.

'Rattle off' nghĩa là đọc nhanh, đọc lướt, nói qua (to recite something quickly and accurately).

Ví dụ
As effusive (phun trào, dạt dào...) about Montana as she is about vaulting (môn nhảy sào), Morelli can rattle off multiple first-time experiences she's had this year.

Between is a show where every line is delivered with a melodramatic (cường điệu, kịch melô) flourish, precocious (phát triển sớm) kids rattle off encyclopedia-style explanations of random topics and there’s rarely a convincing word out of anyone’s mouth.

It is true that Carson never had to do that shit, but if he had a bit like Letterman's Top Ten -- a bit where he could rattle off 10 rapid-fire jokes a night -- Letterman's hero would have done it in a heartbeat (nhịp tim đập, bồi hồi cảm động).

His grasp of data was astounding. I would ask him where he saw the economy headed over the next few months. He would quote oil inventories (dự trữ dầu lửa), changes in freight miles in the railroad industry, and other interesting statistics. As he rattled off the figures, he slapped his left hand against his right fist, as if to jar more information loose.
