'...to a fault' nghĩa là hết sức, vô cùng, thái quá ((of someone who displays a particular commendable quality) to an extent verging on excess; excessively, unduly, immoderately, overly, needlessly).

The coach has stayed loyal, arguably to a fault, to his 4-2-3-1 alignment for two-plus seasons.

Their world, by the way, is socially and politically liberal to a fault, which will seem either defiant or quaint in this partisan season of Trump vs. Clinton.

The remake of the 1977 animated film accomplishes this by making Elliott essentially a dog in a dragon’s body: he’s curious, playful, loyal to a fault and romps around the forest like a puppy alongside his best friend Pete (Oakes Fegley)

If Meacham is sometimes polite to a fault, “Destiny and Power” does not suffer for it. His kinder, gentler approach succeeds in making George H. W. Bush a more sympathetic — and more complex — figure than if the former president had written his own doorstopper after all.

Elected to Congress in 1862, Garfield fought for black rights and liberty, writing in his pocket diary, “Servitium esto damnatum”— “slavery be damned.” Modest to a fault, he toiled diligently in the legislative vineyards for 17 years. Even his foibles (nhược điểm) were endearing (được mến, được quý): he loved to hear himself talk (speaking “on the floor of Congress more than 40 times in a single day”), something he admitted was a “fatal facility.”
