'Kick against the pricks' nghĩa là tự làm khổ mình (do kháng cự, chống đối vô ích). Thành ngữ này xuất phát từ Kinh thánh, liên tưởng từ thực tế một con vật như con bò có thể trở nên kích động (kick) khi chúng bị thúc từ một tác động bên ngoài (pricked). Việt Nam mình rất hay các bạn nhé, dịch từ prick = dương vật, 'đá vào dương vật' gần giống với "tự tay bóp dái" đó các bạn :D
