"Between Scylla and Charybdis" nghĩa là gì?

"Between Scylla and Charybdis" = giữa Scylla và Charybdis -> phải lựa chọn trong tình huống khó xử, dù là chọn bên nào cũng đều nguy hiểm, rủi ro như nhau, tương tự câu tránh vỏ dưa gặp vỏ dừa trong tiếng Việt. Scylla và Charybdis là thủy quái trong thần thoại Hy Lạp, chúng sống ở eo biển Messina giữa Ý và Sicilia. Scylla ở bên bờ nước Ý, đối diện với Charybdis ở Sicilia. Eo biển này rất hẹp nên nếu các thủy thủ tránh Charybdis ở bờ bên này thì sẽ phải gặp Scylla ở bờ bên kia.
