'Give the devil his due' = trao cho quỷ quyền của anh ta đáng được hưởng-> ghi nhận những điều tốt đẹp, kết quả, nỗ lực của ai dù bạn không thích họ (thậm chí kẻ thù của bạn)

Ví dụ
I am not a fan of Trump and I could write a much longer column about his faults as our country‘s leader. But those, like me, who usually oppose him would do well to recognize that it is only fair to give the devil his due.

Everything is about money. Forget country, forget honor (danh dự), forget community. To give the devil his due, Lenin had an insight about human nature when he observed that capitalists (nhà tư bản) will sell him the rope (cái dây thừng) by which he'll hang them.

“So then we must give the devil his due and commend (khen ngợi) our former Head of State Sheikh Professor Dr. Alhagie Yahya AJJ Jammeh who had the vision (tầm nhìn), courage (can đảm) and tenacity (kiên trì) to initiate the actual democratisation of education in this country. Yes that is the man who also gave us our first ever university.
