"In the middle of nowhere" nghĩa là gì?

Here, in the middle of nowhere, somewhere around the North Dakota–South Dakota border, I have all but lost touch with modernity (sự hiện đại). The nearest town in either direction is 40 miles away, and the one hamlet (thôn, xóm) within striking distance of where I am staying consists of (bao gồm) a single-roomed bar, a post office, and a faded wooden church (nhà thờ gỗ phai nhạt).

In Saint-Chinian, you can live and feel as if you are in the middle of nowhere. But, in fact, Spain is near enough that you could pop over (ghé qua) for dinner and Paris is just three hours away by TGV.

Can you imagine being in a situation where you followed the well trusted (đáng tin cậy) Google maps and ended up lost (và cuối cùng bị lạc), somewhere in the middle of nowhere? Don't think that is possible? Well, that happened to a huge group of people in Aurora, Colorado recently.
