"Much ink has been spilled (on/over/about)" = mực bị đổ nhiều (tốn mực) -> vấn đề được nhiều người viết đến/ nhắc đến.

Ví dụ
So much ink has been spilled about that trade by so many writers, including myself, that I don’t have much to add.

A lot of ink has been spilled and oxygen expended (tiêu hao oxy) discussing the matter, some of it good and some of it simplistic (vô cùng đơn giản).

While much ink has been spilled about western alienation (bỏ bê, xa lánh), and neglect (bỏ bê) by governments in Ottawa, McLeod said the north is also suffering, and Canada’s economy needs its resource (tài nguyên) sector.

One of the most remarkable passages (đoạn đáng chú ý) in Davis’s work is her description of the Valley in the run-up (thời gian trước) to the Civil War. Davis acknowledges (nhận ra) that “the causes of our War Between the States are not within the scope of this narrative (câu chuyện tường thuật)”; much ink has been spilled on that topic, and it’s only become more contentious (tranh cãi) in recent decades.
