"Run the clock down" nghĩa là gì?

"Run the clock down" -> dùng càng nhiều thời gian trong trận đấu càng tốt, không để cho đối thủ có cơ hội ghi bàn nhằm bảo vệ tỷ số đang dẫn, thường chuyển sang chiến thuật phòng thủ hoặc chơi thụ động.
Ví dụ
There’s a simple way to bump that number up. Stop the clock for penalties. Don’t run the clock down for conversions (đảo ngược tỷ số) or penalty kicks. In fact, stop the clock whenever the ball goes out of bounds.
