Trooper (cảnh sát) Anthony Cattabriga and K9 Casper were dispatched (gửi đi, cử đến) to Manchester to assist in apprehending (bắt giữ) a man wanted for domestic assault (tấn công) who police said barricaded (rào chắn; cố thủ) himself inside the La Quinta hotel on Front Street. He was identified by Manchester police as Matthew Williams, 35.

Williams was taken into custody (trại giam) by Manchester police on numerous charges (cáo buộc), including simple assault, resisting arrest, and maiming (gây tổn thương) a police dog.
