"Stop, look, and listen" nghĩa là gì?

"Stop, look, and listen" = dừng lại, quan sát và lắng nghe -> thận trọng, cẩn trọng và biết nhận thức sự nguy hiểm, nhạy cảm của một sự việc. Hoặc có thể hiểu đơn giản là sự cẩn thận khi qua đường, phải dừng lại, quan sát và nghe ngóng xem có chiếc xe nào đi ngang qua hay không.

Ví dụ
If I decide on something it has to be done immediately (làm ngay tức thì) which is really silly. It’s always better to stop, look and listen, wait. It’s almost like crossing the road.

The second comes in the form of a recommendation (lời gợi ý): Be careful. Stop, look, and listen to everything that is going on around you so that you are safe. There is an astonishing amount of traffic (mật độ giao thông choáng ngợp) on our small village roads, created by a dizzying variety of vehicles, not all of which, sadly, are operated by people paying strict (nghiêm ngặt) attention. Obey the rules (tuân thủ luật lệ), cross at crosswalks, come to a full stop at a stop sign, don’t ride side-by-side on the mopeds, and try not to stop and have a chat in the middle of the road.

What’s current should be obvious, though it seems we often get so caught up in the day to day that we don’t stop, look and listen. Stopping might actually be the hardest part. There are always too many things to do, so how can we stop to read an article (bài báo), to go to a boat show or conference (hội nghị)? But these kinds of “breaks” are important, and so is stopping and looking at what’s happening at your own facility and in your own “neighborhood.”
