"When the going gets tough, the tough get going" nghĩa là gì?

"When the going gets tough, the tough get going" có nghĩa là khi cuộc sống gặp nhiều khó khăn, vất vả, chúng ta vẫn phải tiến về phía trước, tiếp tục cố gắng vượt qua. Từ “tough” nghĩa đen là cứng, khắc nghiệt còn nghĩa bóng nói lên sự can trường, cứng rắn của con người.

Ví dụ:
“When the going gets tough, the tough get going,” goes the famous phrase, that tends to stir the spirits (tinh thần) of even the faintest of hearts (yếu lòng nhất). Therefore, if you genuinely (thực sự) want your dreams to become “real” in the physical sense (vật chất), you must learn to build resilience (phục hồi) on the inside, to allow prosperity (sự thành công) to flow on the outside.

When the going gets tough, the tough get going is a phrase that I have read often, but never seen in real life. I must confess (thừa nhận) that I have been proved wrong, judging (đánh giá) by the hustle and bustle (hối hả và vội vàng) that is visible every day at the campus in Shenzhen that also doubles up as the headquarters (trụ sở) of Chinese telecoms equipment (thiết bị viễn thông) major Huawei Technologies Co.

PAKISTAN is currently in the grip (kiểm soát) of serious economic and political problems. The currency (tiền tệ) is in free fall, exports (xuất khẩu) and tax revenues (thu nhập từ thuế) are stagnant (trì trệ) and inflation (lạm phát) and unemployment (thất nghiệp) are on the rise. When the going gets tough, the tough get going, sages (nhà hiền triết) say. But in Pakistan’s case, its political leadership is in the grips of deep mediocrity (tầm thường) as it churns out (đánh tung) one vacuous (ngớ ngẩn) idea after another.
