"All duck or no dinner" = toàn vịt (hầm) hoặc chẳng có bữa tối nào -> nghĩa là tình huống/nỗ lực/hành động mà kết quả là hoặc thành công hoặc thất bại hoàn toàn; 'được ăn cả, ngã về không'.

Ví dụ
Nicky Henderson's Theinval and A Toi Phil, who turns out quickly after being let down by his jumping in the Plate, also feature. Yorkhill – who is clear on ratings (xếp hạng) – doesn't need to be at his best to take this, but it seems a case of all duck or no dinner with the mount of Paul Townend these days.

"Consistency in a professional golfer is overrated (đánh giá quá cao), you want to be a little bit like Brooks Koepka, you want to be all duck or no dinner. "Early in his career he had that ability to go into overdrive (chơi quá sức), and we hadn't seen recently that from him. Even when he won the Players [Championship] this year, it wasn't an overdrive performance. He had not blown the field away the way he used to."

We may be sick of hearing talk about processes (quy trình), but that was big under James Horan. Before James, it was All-Ireland or bust. In the county it probably still is, but within the group it is different. That’s what they are striving (phấn đấu) to do, but it’s not all duck or no dinner. It’s a gradual (dần dần) process for them.
