"As tough as old boots" nghĩa là gì?

"As tough as old boots" = cứng như giày cũ (ý chỉ giày bằng da, rất bền) -> (về người) chắc chắn, kiêng cường, khỏe mạnh; (về thịt) rất dai, khó nhai.

Ví dụ
“He’ll be there,” he said. “He’s as tough as old boots is Muzza."

Why fragile (mỏng manh, dễ vỡ)? It’s as tough as old boots. It’s been here billions of years. It can’t be very fragile.

You have to be as tough as old boots to wait on the public, but as with Bonefish Grill, we have always been pleased with the friendly servers at Ruby Tuesday.

Liam is as tough as old boots and this rule is in place to protect players like him. Had it not been in place, Liam would have carried on playing (tiếp tục chơi) because he’s that committed.
