"Chew the fat" nghĩa là gì?

'Chew the fat' = nhai tóp mỡ -> nghĩa là quây quần tán dóc. Cụm từ này bắt nguồn từ việc các thủy thủ vừa nói chuyện với nhau vừa nhai tóp mỡ (the fat in the dried pork).
