'Hit the right note' = đánh đúng nốt (nhạc) -> hoàn toàn phù hợp trong tình huống nào đó hay chọn một cách chính xác.

Ví dụ
The film hit the right note during the ongoing Bangalore Queer Film Festival (BQFF), where it was screened on Friday

A DYNAMIC duo who have steered (hướng dẫn) a Ross-shire choir (đội hợp xướng) to multiple Mod successes hope to hit the right note on a much bigger stage this week.

On Instagram, she shared a screenshot of the comment that read, in part: “You did not hit the right note. For thousands of Filipinos who paid their tickets coming from their hard-earned money yet you gave them that performance! Nakakahiya ka!”

Well, first up you have absolutely no idea what the person you're moaning (than vãn) to might be going through themselves (maybe they're on their way to a funeral, just had an unexpected medical diagnosis, haven't slept for four days, whatever.) So any petty whinging (phàn nàn, càm ràm) and self-righteousness (tự cho là đúng) might not hit the right note with them. More importantly, you have no idea if the person you've just had a whiney (rên rỉ, than vãn) chat to even shares the same values, beliefs and privileges you do.
