"Not spoil the ship for a ha'porth of tar" nghĩa là gì?

"Do not spoil the ship for a ha'porth of tar" có từ "ship" là cách đọc lái của "sheep", ha'porth" viết tắt của "halfpennyworth" (đáng nửa xu), "tar" (hắc ín) được sử dụng để bảo vệ da cừu khỏi ruồi muỗi/ bệnh tật. Cụm từ này nghĩa là đừng mạo hiểm sự thất bại của một doanh nghiệp lớn bằng cách cố gắng tiết kiệm những thứ tầm thường.
