"Quit playing with your food" nghĩa là gì?

Đôi khi trẻ thích nghịch trên bàn ăn lại là biểu hiện của thông minh và sáng tạo. Photo courtesy Gocha Nemsadze

Quit/ stop/ don’t playing with (one’s) food = đừng nghịch đồ ăn nữa (bà mẹ tức giận mắng con vì không chịu ăn).

Ví dụ
"Niko! Don't play with your food! When I was your age, we didn't have food!" – Maria

Were you taught not to play with your food? Most of us probably were — for many reasons.

Unlike the advice your mom lent you, he encourages (khuyến khích, cổ vũ) you to play with your food every chance you get!

We probably all remember the adage "don't play with your food" being snapped across (bắt gặp) the dinner table, forlornly (khổ sở) stopping us making hot chip towers and flicking (búng, ném) baked beans at siblings. But an expert (chuyên gia) in parenting picky-eaters (kén ăn) says getting hands deep in their dinner plate is actually one of the best things they can do.
