"Grass is always greener on the other side" nghĩa là gì?

'Grass is always greener on the other side' = cỏ luôn xanh ở phía bên kia (hàng rào) -> nghĩa là những người thường khao khát ở tình huống, vị trí của người khác, hay nói đơn giản là 'đứng núi này trông núi nọ'.

Ví dụ
The saying is that the grass is always greener on the other side, but it’s not really that much greener anywhere else. Sure, other cities have a Target or an Olive Garden, but why is that enough to make them better?

Speaking as an only child, you are so lucky if you have siblings (chị em họ). Of course, I do know the grass is always greener on the other side. I bet (cá, cược) you can't stand your siblings sometimes. There might even be long periods of time when you don't get along at all.

Assuming you’ve got that under control (kiểm soát), though, it can be helpful to identify other single (đơn độc) friends to hang out with so that you feel less lonely. There is nothing wrong with being single, and relationships are not always as easy as they seem when you’re looking at couples. (I’m not saying they aren’t worth trying, but the grass is always greener on the other side.)
