'Grinds one's gears' = lên số sai (chưa cắt côn đã lên số hoặc lên nhầm số, thường sẽ tạo ra tiếng động) -> nghĩa là đặc biệt thấy phiền toái, khó chịu với ai.

Ví dụ
Don’t get me wrong, nothing grinds my gears more than someone speeding past you like they’re not just swinging by Macca’s for a cheesy-b, but that hardly means they’re the only ones on the road that you need to be wary (thận trọng) of.

"I felt strong, honestly (trung thực, thành thật), from the beginning," Skoglund said. "I walked the first hitter, unfortunately, and that grinds my gears a little. And then the second hitter got that little knock down the line. But other than that, I felt really strong."

As you may have already gathered, littering (rác rưởi bừa bãi) is something that really grinds my gears and I know I'm not alone with my feelings. RACQ recently asked Queenslanders what drove them crazy on the road and leaving a trail of trash was one of the top five most infuriating driver behaviours for 2019.

Speaking on her podcast Life Uncut which she co-hosts with Brittany Hockley, Laura took aim at Georgia for tweeting "F—K YOU MATT" after Elly's elimination. "The fact that Georgia Love had said this really grinds my gears," Laura raged. "She didn't say, 'Hey this isn't cool'. She chose to use obscenities (tục tĩu) and basically verbally abused Matt for his choices."
