"Monkey see, monkey do", "monkey" trong cụm thành ngữ này có thể ám chỉ trẻ em vì chúng thường bắt chước những gì chúng nhìn thấy được từ người lớn hoặc những trẻ khác. Đôi khi, "monkey" này cũng ám chỉ cho những người thường xuyên bắt chước những điều người khác làm mà không hề suy nghĩ. Vì thế, đôi khi họ sẽ làm ra những thứ ngu ngốc.
