'On a slow boat to China' = trên chuyến tàu chậm tới Trung Quốc -> nghĩa là (trải qua chặng đường hoặc hành trình dài) mất rất nhiều thời gian đặc biệt đi tới kết luận hoặc điểm đến không chắc chắn, rõ ràng.

Ví dụ
Graziano Pelle put on a slow boat to China after refusing to shake coach’s hand. Italy coach Gianpiero Ventura has sent home striker Graziano Pelle after the Shandong Luneng forward refused to shake his hand when he was substituted during Thursday’s 1-1 draw with Spain.

So, what did these engineers do with the old hardware once they finished testing? Did they just toss them in the trash? Did they send them on a slow boat to China to sit at an e-waste facility? Nope, they've been stored in boxes "in someone else's office" over the years, separated by the year they were released (and/or tested).

In 1997, Sir Tom Stoppard was the first playwright (nhà soạn kịch) to be knighted (được phong tước) for his services to the arts since Terence Rattigan. Some of his work is ingenius but this is not his best work - or the best version of it. Rough Crossing, now showing at Cambridge Arts Theatre, was written in 1984. From this production, if it was good then. Its stale (cũ) now. It's set on a ship and watching this flat production feels like you have got on a slow boat to China.
