"God knows I've tried" nghĩa là gì?

'God knows (that) I've tried' = Chúa biết tôi đã cố gắng như thế nào -> sự thật là tôi đã rất cố gắng (làm gì đó).

Madigan called for pro-choice campaigners to be “fiercely kind” in trying to persuade people to a pro-choice standpoint. "Talk about this online but do it gently - shouting at people doesn't change their minds, and god knows, I’ve tried."
God knows I’ve tried to tell others what their purpose (mục đích) in life is. I’ve told my husband that his purpose is to please me in every aspect of our life together. I’ve even tried to tell our children, along with our grandkids, that their purpose is to make a lot of money so they can take care of me in my old age. No one is buying (tin tưởng) it.
Fuck that- let’s just cover it. One of the most frustrating parts of this job is trying to blog at the speed of light when I have ten engagements a week and I haven’t slept and my voice is shot and I barely have time to pee (tè, tiểu).
