"A little bit of bread and no cheese" nghĩa là gì?

"A little bit of bread and no cheese" = một ít bánh mì và đừng bỏ phô mai. Cụm từ này mang tính tượng thanh, mô phỏng tiếng hót của loài chim cổ vàng (yellowhammer). Loài chim này là biểu tượng của vùng đồng quê, nông trại nước Anh. Mỗi khi nó cất tiếng hót thì rất giống như khi người ta nói "a little bit of bread and no cheese", gợi lên khung cảnh miền quê thanh bình vào mùa hè và cũng như lời nhắc nhở thổn thức điều cần thực hiện của mỗi người.

Logic would indicate the latter (cái sau), as the 'song of the Yellowhammer' is also known as 'a little bit of bread and no cheese' which would appear to be a nod to the possible food shortages that Britain is likely to experience in a no-deal scenario (viễn cảnh).

I wonder if the choice of the name “Yellowhammer” for the scenario after a no-deal Brexit was down to the fact that the song of the bird of the same name has a rhythm which sounds like “a little bit of bread and no cheese”. Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings (những người khờ khạo, những người thiếu kinh nghiệm)... and little yellow birds!
