"Buck your ideas up" nghĩa là gì?

Từ nay tôi sẽ nghiêm túc hơn trong mối quan hệ tình cảm cá nhân của mình! Photo by Allef Vinicius on Unsplash

"Buck (someone's) ideas up" có từ buck là động viên, làm phấn khởi -> cụm từ này có nghĩa là tỏ thái độ nghiêm túc hơn, trở nên đầy nghị lực và cố gắng hơn trong lĩnh vực nào đó.

Ví dụ
Speaking to Yewande that evening Amber says, “That girl [Arabella] is going to take your man if you don’t buck your ideas up!”

If you’ve ever felt vaguely guilty when Windows tells you off for not properly ejecting your USB device, then good news: it’s no longer necessary. You’re free to rip the USB stick from the side of your laptop with no ill effects and no nagging message telling you to buck your ideas up – assuming you’ve had the 1809 update.

And the audience learns so many things along the way. Some are self-evident (hiển nhiên)– it is hardly very helpful to someone in the depths of depression (tình trạng chán nản) to be told to “buck your ideas up” or to “snap out of it”. Medication (thuốc chữa bệnh, dược phẩm) will help some, and not others. In combating it, the sufferers will need infinite patience, support, and a resolve (quyết tâm) of steel. A combination which is, tragically (đáng buồn là), infrequently (hiếm khi) found.
