"Cut a sorry figure" nghĩa là gì?

"Cut a sorry figure" = cắt bộ dạng thương hại -> nghĩa là > nghĩa là ăn mặc nhếch nhác/xuất hiện trong bộ dạng hoặc gây ấn tượng xấu/tệ hại khiến người khác cảm thấy mất mặt hoặc (nếu đi/đứng cùng) không mang lại lợi ích gì cho họ.
Ví dụ

The Olympic qualification was at stake in three categories (hạng mục) but all three Indians cut a sorry figure as Manish (67kg), Sunil Kumar (87kg) and Ravi (97kg) exited without a fight.
