"Like a bad dream" nghĩa là gì?

Đêm hôm qua, bỗng nhiên tôi nhìn thấy em trong giấc mơ Photo by Gustavo Almeida from Pexels

'Like a bad dream' = giống như một giấc mơ không tốt/ác mộng -> nghĩa là (tình huống) rất kinh khủng, không may mắn, khó chịu mà bạn không muốn tin là thật.

Ví dụ
“After the five-year mark is when your chance of reoccurrence really drops,” she said, adding she knew it was still possible for breast cancer (ung thư vú) to reappear. “But it didn’t haunt me. When I would think about it, it would just seem like a bad dream.”

"The doctor took a breath and told us that 'Isla is very very poorly, much more sick than we thought'. "From this moment on everything that the doctor said felt like a bad dream. Isla had kidney failure (suy thận). "Her kidneys did not function at all and her body wasn't able to cope. This turned into a matter of life or death."

After months of tearfully protesting (phản kháng/đấu tranh đẫm nước mắt) the Seattle School Board’s decision to close Lincoln High School in 1981, alumni, students and staff poured their grief (đau buồn) into a broadsheet newspaper for students. “It all seems so unreal, like a bad dream, to watch teachers you know and love reading the school district requirements for retirement, and going to a first-period wake,” read an unsigned editorial. “But Lincoln is not dead,” it continued, metaphorically.
