"Peck's bad boy" = Peck là một gã hư đốn -> chỉ một người có hành vi nguy hiểm, tinh quái và dâm dục. Ám chỉ nhân vật hư cấu bởi George Wilbur Peck năm 1883.

Ví dụ
Each comedian performing in burlesque (trò khôi hài) had a different persona. That person had a nationality and, usually, an accent (chất giọng) and accompanying dialect (tiếng địa phương). There was the hobo (người sống và làm việc lêu lổng), with a stubble of a beard (bộ râu mọc lởm chởm) and a bulbous (phồng ra) nose; the Dutch comic; and the persona known as “Peck’s bad boy,” after the kid who is a rascal, who always gets into trouble.

In his years with The Post, Fowler was the definition (định nghĩa) of a Peck’s Bad Boy. His drinking, womanizing (quan hệ lăng nhăng với nhiều phụ nữ), carousing (chè chén) and sudden disappearances (biến mất đột ngột) were legendary (huyền thoại), as was his brilliance (sự tài giỏi, lỗi lạc) as a newspaperman (nhà báo). He was, said his son, also a newspaperman and writer who was given to “unpredictable whims (ý chợt nảy ra không đoán được).”

As former general manager (tổng giám đốc cũ) Pat Williams once told me, “Iverson probably sold more season tickets than Wilt (Chamberlain) and Julius (Erving). There was a great love affair (chuyện tình, ngoại tình) with him. He was everybody’s rascal (kẻ bất lương, ranh con), Peck’s Bad Boy. He was always in trouble with the teacher. He stirred (kích động) people’s emotions. Nobody was ever neutral (bình thường, trung lập) with him.”
