"Born with a caul on (one's) head" = Sinh ra đã tốt số, sinh vào nơi phú quý/màng thóp ở đầu trẻ mới sinh -> Chỉ người may mắn.

Babies born in the sac (túi, bao trong cơ thể) are said to be “en caul” and are meant to be very lucky. In sailor folklore (theo dân gian, truyền thống của thủy thủ) the tots (đứa trẻ nhỏ) are said, falsely, to be unable to drown (chết đuối).
When Gullah Jack was otherwise engaged, there seems to have been a sort of deputy seer employed in the enterprise (doanh nghiệp), a blind man named Philip. He was a preacher (người thuyết giáo, giảng đạo), was said to have been born with a caul on his head, and so claimed the gift of second-sight.

Plenty of children are born in the exact same way and turn out fine, so it's safe to assume that he could have been haunted for a litany (kinh cầu nguyện) of other reasons.
