"If you can’t stand the heat, keep out of the kitchen" = nếu không chịu được nhiệt thì hãy tránh xa cái bếp -> nghĩa là nếu bạn không chấp nhận, không chịu được kết quả của một sự việc thì đừng dính líu vào.

Ví dụ
If you can’t stand the heat, keep out of the kitchen, so the saying goes. Just a few years ago, that was horribly true. Professional kitchens were no place for the faint–hearted. The flames, knives and fragile tempers created a toxic (độc hại) recipe that could boil over. Chef Tom Aikens allegedly branded a kitchen assistant with a hot palette knife when something went wrong 20 years ago. Aikens now admits “I was 26 and a little bit arrogant (ngạo mạn) and very, very out of my depth”.

This is a prison! If you can’t stand the heat, keep out of the kitchen. Sorry to hear that it has made you anxious (lo lắng).

Indeed, Pearson was booed and heckled as he spoke. When he mentioned the Red Ensign, the crowd cheered. When the chairman of the meeting then tried to bring the crowd to order, Pearson riffed on Harry Truman’s famous line. “As Harry Truman once said, if you can’t stand the heat, keep out of the kitchen,” Pearson said. He smiled, the crowd laughed and then applauded (tán dương).
