"Make it (someone's) business to (do something)" hoặc "take it upon oneself to do something" nghĩa là quyết định làm việc gì trong khi việc đó không liên quan hoặc không phải trách nhiệm của mình.

Ví dụ
Always remember no one is always right; not even you. Make it your business to forgive. Your life, your health, and your growth depends on it.

Whether you live on the east or west coast or somewhere in between, make it your business to clean your furniture (đồ đạc) once a while. Take the hose, mild soap, and some cotton towels (khăn tắm) and give each piece a bath. This may even be a fun task to give over to your kids. No, there are no laws against this type of labor (yet.)

Make it your business to meet and check in with the dementia (chứng mất trí) patients your facility is treating on a daily basis (hằng ngày), too. A reassuring smile (nụ cười an ủi), touch of the hand, or a joke can do wonders (điều kỳ diệu) for well-being. Your entire staff can reassure their patients this way on a consistent basis as well. It's always the right thing to do.
